Do you have the right people in your life?

A few weeks ago, I talked about determining which crabs in your bucket are keeping you off track. Your toxic relationships play a part in knocking you off your path. But you must also own your responsibility in it all whether it’s setting better boundaries or allowing others attitude to affect your actions. And a good way to take responsibility for your own path is by surrounding yourself with people who can help you stay on track.

Who are you strategically aligning yourself with? It truly does take a village to create the most successful life you can, and I know that first hand. When I set out on my path of financial healing, I knew a couple of things had to happen. First, I needed to approach the toxic relationships in my life differently. I set boundaries with those people and stopped allowing their opinions from halting  progress towards my goals.

Second, I sought out people who I knew could help me to achieve what I wanted to. I call these people strategic partnerships. They range from attorneys and accounts to personal trainers and nutritionists to energy psychologists and acupuncturists. From normal to esoteric, I think it’s vital to have people in your life that can stimulate and encourage you in every way possible – mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Now that you’ve determined who the crabs in your bucket are, it’s time to surround yourself with people who can lift you up. You know what you need most right now in order to succeed. Of course as you continue to grow in your new self, your needs will evolve and you’ll need to align yourself with new people. But for today, for right now, the best thing you can do for your financial healing and your overall success in life is to reach out to people who can help you get to where you want to be.

Action step

Success in any field requires dedication to a plan as well as a solid team behind your efforts. Personal financial success is no different. You’ve already spent time eliminating the distractions on your quest to financial healing.  So this week, start considering the types of people that need to be on your team. Your list may include the average team members in the beginning, but just consider this a brainstorming session. Go completely out of the box with who could help you be your best self. Aligning yourself with the right people will push you towards your goals in not just finances but also life.
