Whilst we are all on our own financial path and that will look unique for each one of us, there are many clues from others that we can take and use as inspiration. Many financial people might argue that there is a very specific way of creating financial success. My approach is to certainly look at what successful people are doing, but to then integrate this in your own financial planning in a way that is fully aligned and where you’re leading from your heart all along the way.
Today, I’m going to share some of those financial habits that when used in alignment, can really set you on the path to financial freedom and real wealth.
Most successful people have full clarity on their vision and do the inner work to ensure that the flow of their money is in accordance with that bigger picture. To be financially successful (and again, the definition of this will be different for all of us), there has to be something deeper and greater that drives you so that when it comes to the more strategic side of your money planning, everything you do is with the intention of putting your energy into what you want to create.
Success isn’t just about a number in your bank account. It’s about a deep sense of joy and fulfilment across
all
pillars of your life and so when setting up your financial goals and your routine of
money motivation, having that full clarity on your bigger vision - your ‘why’, is what will keep you anchored all along the way.
To create financial freedom, it’s incredibly important to
create a safe financial container for which the expansion can occur. Those financial people who you admire probably haven’t got to where they are haphazardly when it comes to their money, but instead have created that container around them so they can get on and do what they came here to do and go after their success! This is the core essence of how to be successful on a financial level.
Something I encourage my clients to implement in their money planning is every month, to allocate specific amounts of their income to paying off their financial past (their debts), whilst also taking care of their financial present and planning for their financial future. The important piece to note here is that this process can be applied regardless of your income. It’s not about the number; it’s about aligning the energetic flow of your money around what you want to create and beginning to build that safe financial container around you.
You’ll be surprised at how empowering this process feels and knowing that step by step, you’re becoming your own bank, protecting yourself from the economic environment regardless of what happens (such as a recession) and creating financial success on your own terms!
Maintaining an abundant mindset is a consistent quality you will see in successful people and this includes the ability to hold money. Money is energy after all, and if you struggle to hold money for long without spending it, this is an indication that there is an emotional fear or sense of lack associated with money. So the key is learning how to energetically get your money to flow in the direction that supports you, instead of acting out a suffering pattern.
We act out so much of our subconscious and our suffering patterns through how we interact with money and the impulse to spend money is typically a way to try and soothe an unmet emotional need. This only keeps us in that suffering pattern and so the key to changing this is by creating awareness around it, but also then challenging ourselves to learn that it’s
safe to hold money without spending it. Yes, we can reward ourselves and spend but this can be done with full consciousness and awareness and integrated into our financial planning as mentioned in the above point.
If holding money is a struggle, something you can do is challenge yourself to always have $20, $50 or $100 in your purse or wallet but to never spend it. That money is there to serve as a symbol that money is abundant, that there is more than enough and that it is safe to hold it and enjoy that feeling. You might experience a number of emotions with this challenge but that’s ok! All you need to do is allow yourself to acknowledge the emotion, to feel through it and interrupt that old spending pattern each time. You’ll soon notice that by rewiring the old pattern, this small technique will also start to shift the way you operate and interact with money in other areas of your life.
When asking yourself how to be successful, you have to be willing to get out of your head and lead from your heart. Whilst this might go against the grain of what many financial people and experts advise, the truth is, if you’re unable to fully embody the true essence of
you and lead with that energy – from what feels good and aligned in your heart, you will always find ways to negotiate yourself away from your big dream and ultimately, your success.
Most of the successful people out there who have attracted abundance, joy and happiness in all areas of their life, have often stepped outside of the box, done things a little differently and have been ferocious in what they want to create. All along the journey, they have led from their heart.
This doesn’t mean making choices that aren’t considered. You start from the heart,
then
bring in the smarts and the more strategic side of your planning. But to create the success you desire, you have to be in the driving seat of your life and this is a quality that financially successful people all embody to get to where they want to be.
