How to Become a Self-Made Millionaire

When it comes to becoming a self-made millionaire, although the idea might seem out of reach or only reserved for the ambitious or entrepreneurial few, it’s actually something that’s far more achievable than you might imagine!

Today, I’m going to share with you the
true secrets on how to become rich and embody Real Wealth in all areas of your life.

Money is Energy

Money, like everything, is energy and has a vibrational frequency. Therefore, how you choose to think, speak and feel about money is what will be reflected back to you. Becoming a self-made millionaire can only be done from a place of feeling abundant and empowered around your money. If it’s coming from a place of reaction, it will be incredibly difficult to achieve because your limited beliefs, thoughts and actions around your money won’t be aligned with wealth but instead, with fear and scarcity.

This is why money runs so much deeper than how much we have in our bank accounts, assets, investment portfolios, retirement funds and so on. It’s largely emotional, so identifying and then working through your
beliefs around money is the key to unlocking that incredible potential you have!

To begin to shift your vibration around money, I’d like you to become extra conscious of your thoughts around it. When you feel that low-level energy about money such as never having enough, take a breath and intercept it by choosing a different, more empowered thought instead. You can also use positive money affirmations.

Now, this isn’t about telling yourself lies! It’s rather about choosing to see a different perspective. Instead of telling yourself ‘I’ll never get out of debt’ or ‘There’s no way I can build wealth on my paycheck’, choose the alternative approach of ‘What are a few small steps I can put into action to begin to eliminate my debt?’ or ‘What other income options could be available to me” or “Is it time to ask for a raise or look for a new job with a salary that matches what I’m worth?’

This is an incredibly powerful practice as it creates space within your nervous system to change your financial story.

Create a Strategy to Reduce Debt

If you’re asking yourself how to become rich, becoming your own bank is the ultimate way to achieve this goal. Although having debt is almost seen as the norm in our economic environment, the truth is, these debt instruments that are so readily available keep us trapped in a debt loop and so we repeat our financial past over and over. To truly become a self-made millionaire and
embody Real Wealth on every level, you have to decide to stop that cycle to set yourself free of debt and become entirely self-sufficient.

Therefore, finding ways to gradually and consistently eliminate debt is your ticket to financial freedom. If you want something other than what you have today, the key is to create space for it instead of relying on credit cards to pay for it. Even if this is $5 per paycheck, it’s not about the amount but rather, the energy and intention behind it that will get you on the path to becoming truly wealthy!

Consider Extra Income Potential

If you feel limited by your current paycheck, getting into that energy of abundance is about embodying the essence of ‘more’ as opposed to limitation and lack. Do you have skills that you could earn extra income or create some new passive income streams from? You can ask yourself a few questions to get the creative juices flowing on this one! What do you love to do where time seems to fly by? What makes you giggle? What do people always tell you you’re good at? Where do you feel your most authentic and aligned self? What are you doing in these situations? What would you love to try as an experiment?

You don’t have to feel limited by your paycheck and there’s incredible opportunity to earn extra if you allow yourself to get into that vibration of ‘more’ and be willing to step outside of your comfort zone a little!

Organize Your Finances to Align with Wealth

When looking at how to become rich, you have to be intentional about your money mindset and what you want to create. This is about looking at your financial life from a short-term, mid-term and long-term perspective and setting your financial intentions and ‘buckets’ accordingly.

To clarify, short-term is where you set aside 3 – 6 months of living expenses aside, mid-term is your 3 – 5-year money (this is one that is often overlooked) and long-term is your retirement funds and money allocated for later years.

This is an important part of your financial planning process because it means that you have money set aside for all eventualities and don’t have to rely on credit cards or loans to fund unexpected expenses that we all know can arise at the most inconvenient of times! You can continue to review these buckets as you go along to ensure they’re aligning with your current desires, situation and intentions.

By doing this, you’re allowing yourself to live in the present moment whilst feeling safe that you’re also taking care of your future self. Becoming a true self-made millionaire isn’t about flying by the seat of your pants or being a financial one-hit wonder! It’s about being in the present moment whilst also being super intentional about how you want the energy of your money to flow. This is about setting yourself up to be lucky! When you align your energy in this way, this is also when you really begin to make those quantum leaps in your money manifestations!

It’s all about starting where you are. Try not to get caught up in the numbers. It doesn’t matter if at first, you’re only able to allocate $5 to your buckets; it’s the energy behind the intention that is the exact energy you need to embody to become that empowered, self-made millionaire you deserve to be.

By implementing these mindful and practical tweaks and strategies, it’s far more achievable than you might have imagined!

As someone who has guided countless clients toward true wealth, I know how crucial it is to build financial stability, especially in times like these. And that’s where my approach, outlined in my first book, "The Emotion Behind Money" , comes into play. In my work, I emphasize that wealth isn’t just about numbers—it's about what's happening inside you as much as what's happening around you. The Emotion Behind Money is all about building wealth from the inside out, which means bringing your authentic self to the forefront of your financial decisions. When your money is aligned with who you truly are, you create a foundation that can withstand even the most uncertain times. Feeling anxious about the future—whether it’s due to financial, economic, or inflation-related concerns—is a common experience. But often, that anxiety signals that your money isn’t set up in alignment with your authentic self. When this alignment is off, it’s easy to feel ungrounded and uncertain. I’ve seen this time and again in my work as a financial planner, and I’m here to help you shift from anxiety to assurance by realigning your financial life with who you really are. Let’s face it: the economic landscape is challenging right now. Inflation is driving up costs on essentials like gas, food, and education. Interest rates are climbing, and while wage growth might seem positive, it can have long-term consequences for the economy. It’s easy to get caught up in these concerns, but I believe there’s a better way to approach them. The Outside vs. The Inside When we think about wealth, we often focus on external factors: the stock market, interest rates, inflation, job security, and so on. These things are important, but they’re only part of the picture. What’s going on inside you—your beliefs, values, and emotions —plays an equally crucial role in your financial stability. If you’re feeling anxious about the future, it might be a sign that your finances aren’t fully aligned with your true self . When you’re not grounded in your financial decisions, it’s easy to feel out of control and overwhelmed by external events. But when your money is set up in a way that reflects who you are and what you value, you’ll find that you can navigate uncertainty with much more confidence and peace of mind. Creating Financial Space One of the most important steps you can take to create financial stability is to build financial space. This means having enough room in your budget to handle unexpected expenses, economic downturns, or other financial challenges without feeling panicked. Start by taking a close look at your current financial situation. Are there areas where you could reduce your debt? Are there expenses you could eliminate or cut back on? By making these adjustments, you can free up cash flow that can be redirected into savings or investments, creating a buffer that will protect you in times of uncertainty. I’ve created a Cashflow Worksheet to help you get started on this journey. You can download it here . Another crucial aspect of creating financial space is to avoid taking on unnecessary debt. For example, many people take out loans from their 401K accounts, thinking it’s a quick fix. But in the long run, this can lead to more financial stress. Instead, focus on building up your savings so that you have the cash on hand to cover unexpected expenses without resorting to credit cards or loans. Empower Your Choices A big part of building financial stability is recognizing that you have a choice in how you manage your money. It’s easy to feel like a victim of the system, especially when you’re facing financial pressure. But when you realize that you have the power to make decisions that align with your values and goals, you take control of your financial future. For example, instead of feeling like you "have to" use credit cards to cover expenses, reframe it as a choice. If you truly need to use credit, do so with intention and a plan to pay it off quickly. But if it’s possible to avoid it, choose to do so. This simple shift in mindset can make a huge difference in how you feel about your financial situation. Insulate Yourself from Economic Uncertainty We can’t control what’s happening in the global economy, but we can take steps to insulate ourselves from its effects. This starts with being proactive about your finances. By setting up your money in a way that aligns with your true self, you create a foundation that can weather any storm. Whether it’s building up your savings, reducing your debt, or making thoughtful financial choices, every step you take toward financial stability helps to create a sense of security. And that security isn’t just about having more money in the bank—it’s about knowing that you’re in control of your financial future, no matter what happens in the world around you.
