To begin to manifest what we desire and go after creating what we want to create, the biggest barrier is not a lack of intelligence, commitment or motivation, but usually, a subconscious lack of self worth and belief in ourselves. I’ve experienced this personally and with many private clients that I’ve worked with.
We have so much inner resistance to the change we want to call into our life that the things we manifest become a reflection of the doubt, fear and worry that resides inside of us.
When you know your worth, this is when you will see profound changes in your life and can make those quantum leaps in reaching your goals. In this article today, I’ll look at some of the steps you can take to own your value and worth and go after your dreams!
In the rapid pace of today’s world, so many of us live on autopilot. We’re constantly bombarded by technology, media and the opinions of others that we lose sight of who we are and what we want - in our hearts. We work in jobs we don’t love, find ourselves in relationships that don’t serve us and suffer the consequences of poor health. All of these create an impact on our self worth because we’re not living in alignment. Our wants, desires and dreams get blurred and we forget who we are at our core. A big part of self worth is therefore reconnecting to ourselves
and to our hearts.
I’d like you to take some time for yourself, disconnect from technology, ideally get outside in nature and practice awareness. This can be a slow walk, meditating or just being present. Notice the sounds, sensations and how you feel in your body. Tap into your heart and listen to what it’s telling you. This is where your head and logical thinking will want to override, but try your best to stay with your heart here.
Your heart has all the answers and it might tell you things that feel emotional or challenging to accept, but go with it. The more you practice this, the more you’ll be able to return to your true, most aligned self and as time goes on, heighten your sense of self worth. You’ll be able to see that your life - or parts of it, are perhaps not what you truly want and then you can gradually take the steps to change that.
To
know your worth is about fully accepting your reality, but without shame or judgement. When we resist accepting what has happened in our lives and working through the emotions that block us from manifesting what we desire, it’s only going to perpetuate the suffering cycle and we’ll create the same outcomes in different formations over and over.
To break through your blocks, you have to be willing to feel your feelings instead of avoiding them. Building self worth is also about the rewiring of our neural pathways (our current ways of thinking, feeling, coping and behaving) and being willing to feel, accept and release what needs to be released to create space.
How can you start to feel your feelings? Some tools I recommend include journaling or writing them down, followed by speaking them out loud and then (safely of course!) burning them. Every time you express yourself on paper and burn it, you are changing your energy and changing your life.
You can also try something simple such as listening to music or watching a movie that evokes an emotional response. Allow it to come through however it needs to, because this is a sign that it’s shifting.
Self worth can’t just happen through wishing you had more of it. You have to get out there and challenge yourself to do things differently from your old patterning and show your subconscious that you feel worthy of living the life you want to live - by living it now! Taking new steps will feel strange so give yourself permission to start slowly.
Let’s look at an example. Our relationship with money is so closely attached with our level of self worth. This could be using debt as a way to distract ourselves from what we really need to feel and release. If spending is something you’ve used in the past and created debt as a result, this isn’t aligned to your highest self who lives in the energy of abundance and embodies their self worth, because it means you’re repeating your financial past over and over. Building the muscle of self worth might therefore mean challenging yourself to hold money by keeping a $50 note in your wallet at all times and not spending it. It might also mean accepting your financial reality and creating a plan to help you eliminate the debt and working towards financial freedom.
This mirrors the actions of someone who feels worthy of wealth and
living the life they desire, and so taking those actions that
support this is building that muscle and reprogramming your patterning around money.
It could also mean stepping out of your comfort zone bit by bit and trying new things. Exploring, connecting and taking yourself out of the narrative of the life you’re living in right now. Again, this creates those new neural pathways and you begin to discover new parts of yourself. Both confidence and competence comes by doing and the more you build this muscle, the more self worth you’ll start to authentically feel and embody!
Trusting yourself – and your heart, is a key part of creating the life you desire. To know your worth is to trust and go out there and do whatever you feel called to do without negotiating yourself away. You might be swayed by the opinions or expectations of others, society or what your head thinks you ‘should’ do. When you choose not to be the driver of your own life though, something else will suffer along the way, whether this be your money, your relationships or your health and wellbeing.
This is why practicing that deep level of awareness and self-connection is key. To listen to your heart and to
trust what it is telling you every step of the way. All you have to do is stay in that alignment and watch how everything opens up. Watch the manifestations flow!
You have to practice trusting your ‘Yes’. No one knows
you better than you, regardless of whether it fits into the box of what others want for you or even if it makes sense. Follow your heart,
then
bring in the smarts. Staying true to your desires and being ferocious in creating what you want to create is the essence of self worth and when you open up those energy channels to call in exactly what is meant for you.
