Time is one of our most precious assets; we won’t get yesterday back and we only get one chance at tomorrow. So why spend our days investing our time into things that won’t create abundance in our lives? Instead, we should be focusing our energy on making room for as much abundance as possible.
Everyone’s definition of abundance is different. First, you must figure out what an abundant life means for you. Maybe your ideal is a job that allows you to spend more time with your kids. Or you’ve dreamt of starting a crafting business in addition to being a full-time wife and mom. It could be as simple – yet vital – as have a bimonthly girls’ weekend with your out-of-town friends.
Only you know what an abundant life looks like for you, and now is as good a time as any to figure it out. But what does it take to make room for abundance in your current life? It means eliminating the things that don’t support your dreams. And that could be absolutely anything: pictures of old friends, magazines encouraging you to buy unnecessary things, or toxic people in your life in general.
Surround yourself with supportive people – people who believe in what you are trying to accomplish and encourage you to succeed. Only keep things in your home that create the space for abundance. Read books on topics in line with your ideal life (my personal favorite authors include Deepak Chopra, Louise Hay and Gregg Braden). Wear clothes that make you feel worthy of abundance, and speak only positive things into existence.
Action Step
Spend time this week looking at your current life. Write down all the things that are not supporting your dreams. And that list should include the people, places and things that aren’t in line with your ideal life. When making room for abundance in your life, remember that you must physically move out of the old to make room for the new.
Don’t hold back; no one else will see this list, so be as open and honest as possible. Once you’ve decided what needs to be removed, you have officially made room for abundance to come into your life and stay.
