How you choose to look at life and the events that come along with it is all down to your mindset. Staying positive and making a conscious choice to practice this every day will have a profound effect on your health, wellbeing, relationships and career. Not to mention how it will turn your financial life around.
If you tend to look on the negative side of things, you’ve probably noticed that parts of your life are reflecting this back. This is because everything is energy. This concept has been proven in numerous quantum physics studies and when it comes to harnessing positivity, it’s about understanding that the more positive energy you can embody and exude, the more wealth, health and happiness you will begin to attract into your life. The law of attraction states that like attracts like and being able to stay positive will open your world up in ways you didn’t believe possible.
What thinking positively
isn’t about is burying your head in the sand or ignoring a situation that needs attention. If you want to get out of debt for example, this still requires honesty, self-acceptance and then implementing a system to eradicate that debt. However, thinking about
how you choose to approach debt is the crucial part. Approaching it from a place of positivity, possibility, empowerment and abundance is going to create far better outcomes than approaching it with fear, negativity and stress.
Here are some ways you can start to create real wealth by staying positive.
Positive thinking starts with taking inventory of your self-talk. Your thoughts shape your world and although you might not think it’s possible to change negative self-talk, I can assure you, with consistent effort, it is!
It’s firstly about getting curious and becoming the observer of your thoughts. We tend to take how we think for granted and believe it’s part of our personality, but thoughts can be shifted. Negative thinking can become habitual and changing a habit takes working on the subconscious. Our brains are also wired to remember and hold onto the times we made a mistake or had a negative experience. We then replay these memories over and over, which creates a spiral of negative thinking. The process of neural rewiring or retraining the brain is how we can begin to separate ourselves and thoughts from those bad experiences.
I’d like you to take some time to get curious about your thoughts around your money. Are these based on logic or do you tend to always look at the worst-case scenario? Are your thoughts and beliefs fearful and do they put you in a victim mentality? Are you talking to yourself as you would a friend; with compassion or kindness, or do you berate yourself and talk negatively about yourself? Is there never enough? Are you not good enough to create wealth? Once you become clear on the type of thoughts you’re thinking, you can begin to challenge and change them.
Affirmations are an incredibly powerful tool and something I use in my own life and recommend to clients - with great results! The important thing about
using affirmations is that your brain has to believe them, so the key is to start making small shifts. For example, instead of thinking ‘There’s never enough, this debt is swallowing me, I don’t know what to do’, you could try ‘The debt I have isn’t a reflection of me, or my ability to pay it off. I’m choosing to look at the options available to me. What is one small thing I can do today?’ We’re not ignoring the debt, but we’re training our brain and thoughts to practice self-belief and to seek out options and choices.
Using affirmations that empower you to make more money in your life can also open up your creative brain. You’ll be surprised at the ideas you can come up with! This is when the power of positive thinking becomes wildly potent and exciting!
Your brain and thoughts are highly correlated to your physical body. If you’re not taking the time to nourish and hydrate yourself, to get good sleep and implement healthy movement, your thoughts are going to reflect that. Although it might not seem that staying positive is related to your physical health, studies have shown that positive people live healthier lifestyles. By taking care of the most valuable asset you have - your health, your thoughts are going to follow suit because you’re not only going to feel more energetic and brighter physically, but you’re showing your
subconscious that you see yourself as worthy enough to take good care of.
How does this then turn your financial life around? You’ll be inspired to make smarter decisions with your money and have the strength to make changes that are in alignment with you in the full, healthy expression of yourself. Your brain will be more fired up and energetically you’ll be in flow! When you
feel good in yourself, this creates abundance, joy and you’ll soon notice how this is reflected in your finances.
Staying positive can also be done gradually. If you want to become a more optimistic person, get really focused and practice positive thinking periodically during the day. You can even set an alarm on your phone to ‘check in’ with your thoughts. How have you felt about your money today? If you find it’s mostly negative or pessimistic, get laser focused and find a way to see a more positive perspective. Empower yourself to feel better about a choice you have made today financially. How has it served you? If it hasn’t, what can you begin to do differently? What can you learn?
By surrounding yourself with people who are energetic, lively, upbeat and positive, this energy is magnetic and you’ll be surprised at how your own thoughts begin to shift. If you don’t have a circle of positive people around you, you can create the same effect through videos - such as
my YouTube channel, books or online groups. Taking time to have fun, smile and laugh is also incredibly powerful! Laughter is an instant tonic for stress and helps you see the world and your own life through a brighter lens.
When you’re able to stay positive using the above tips and techniques, you’ll be amazed at your ability to turn your financial life around.
