Creating financial freedom is an area I thrive in helping people achieve because ultimately, it offers the power of choice. It provides flexibility and the ability to live a life you love, doing the things you love. The importance of financial freedom extends far beyond the numbers in your bank accounts, savings and investments. It’s about creating Real Wealth - a profound sense of freedom in all areas of your life. After all, you can be what I describe as ‘rich but empty’ and have all the material wealth, yet still feel a deep sense of unhappiness.
Working towards financial freedom isn’t just for those who have already amassed a significant amount of wealth either. Everyone will have their own timeline of course, but essentially, it’s about embodying the
energy of financial freedom that will truly move the needle in your finances and in all parts of your life. Everything is energy and it’s all connected!
So why is financial freedom so important in life? In this article, I’m going to share more about the concept of the financial freedom movement and why it’s something I’m so passionate about helping people achieve through their financial intentions.
Perhaps you’ve found yourself in a situation where you’ve felt limited in going after something that speaks to your soul because you’re tied to a paycheck, are in a cycle of debt and feel like you’re shackled to the banks, the state of the economy and your employer? For that reason, you then feel that your life isn’t your own.
This is one of the most common barriers that prevents people from stepping into a career they love, exploring the world, spending the time they desire with family, or just having more
time in general.
One of the major
financial freedom benefits is having the ability to choose and to be fully in the driving seat of your own life. You don’t have to rely on the financial institutions, credit cards or your employer and you therefore don’t have to live with an underlying sense of resentment of that. You have gradually become your
own bank and have created that safe financial container that insulates you from the economy at large. I’m always amazed at how happier and healthier people become once they’ve paid off their mortgage, or how the conversations with their employer shifts when they have enough saved to be able to leave if they so desire!
Financial freedom means being in control of your life and even when you start to take the smallest step towards that goal, you’ll soon notice how things in your life begin to change. This is because you’re operating on the
vibration of financial freedom. Yes, you have that end goal, but you get to experience that feeling right now!
The importance of financial freedom reaches far beyond the numbers. On a physical level, being weighed down by debt or feeling tied to the system is a huge part of what hijacks our nervous system, leading to dis-ease in the body and a cycle of suffering patterns.
When you pave the way for that financial pressure to ease, you can release what needs to be released and live in the present moment. You can keep your nervous system in neutral and deepen your connection to yourself, what you love and what you want to create. I’m sure you’ll agree, the value of this far exceeds what you have in your bank account!
The financial freedom movement doesn’t automatically mean being a millionaire either! People can attain financial freedom, while living on a very modest amount of money each month and enjoy a simpler lifestyle. In fact, I know quite a few people who have paid off their mortgages, have built up enough savings in their various financial buckets to ensure that everything is accounted for in the short, mid-term and long-term and can live quite happily off just $2K a month. For others, they desire more and that’s ok too!
This is why the financial freedom benefits are so unique to everyone. We all have different desires, dreams and goals so when you’re thinking about your
own intention of financial freedom, I encourage you to really tune out the noise and pay close attention to what it means to you - in your heart.
This is what I help clients with every day, so feel free to explore my
products and coaching offerings to take your own financial freedom journey to the next level.
I see just as many
leaky financial containers with clients who earn $500k per year in income as I do with those who earn $40k per year. What do I mean by leaky financial containers? Let’s imagine a physical Tupperware box. Is that box sturdy, whole and can you clearly see everything in it, or does it have holes so that whatever is contained in it leaks out?
The same idea applies to our money. Many of us have holes in our financial containers where bit by bit, money leaks out keeping us in the cycle of debt, relying on credit cards, creating spending hangovers or paying out for things that just aren’t aligned with our greater financial intentions.
Some of these holes can also appear because we’re consistently financially caretaking for others. It could be that we’re always bailing our kids out of their own debt or being the one who picks up the check for dinner every time. Although in isolation, we can put these down to one-offs, oftentimes and if we’re honest, they’re actually happening on a regular basis.
By accepting the reality of what we’re creating financially, we can shine a light on it. We can do the work to seal up those leaky financial containers and like I mentioned earlier, this is about more than just money. It’s about feeling through those unfelt emotions that are
playing out through our money and then making different choices. It’s often a process of setting boundaries – with others and ourselves.
The impact and value that comes with sealing these leaky containers is priceless yet of course is also one of the biggest financial freedom benefits from a monetary perspective. This is why the importance of financial freedom is about
embodying that essence of Real Wealth. You’re not only creating it on a tangible level but you’re also addressing the spiritual, physical, mental and emotional sides of money.
Remember, financial freedom looks different for everyone. You can make the smartest investment choice but if it doesn’t land in your heart, there will be something else that suffers along the way. Your journey is your own and as soon as you take yourself and your heart along on that journey every step of the way, creating financial freedom and a life you love is far more within reach than you might have imagined!
